The long-term lease expired on the existing GP Surgery Premises this year. Our landlords have kindly extended our lease, but this will only be for the next few years and this could be terminated as soon as January 2025. Tetbury would then find itself without a GP surgery.
For three years we have been trying to find land on which to build a new surgery and have looked at over a dozen sites. Unfortunately, the NHS cannot compete with residential prices which means our options are very limited in Tetbury, especially within the town boundary. We have however found a site on Cirencester Road in which the surgery could be built and the finances would work. Some housing would also need to be built to subsidise the land to meet the NHS financial constraints.
We would like to keep you up to date with your Surgery and invite you to come and discuss the plans with us, the Clinical Commissioning Group and the Developers. The Patient Engagement event will be held at Dolphins Hall on Thursday 9th December 2021 between 17:30 and 21:00. This will be an informal event and you would be welcome to drop in at a time that suits you to view the plans. A survey will also be made available for that week for those that are unable to attend and will be made available on the Practice website.
