Patient Participation Group
There is an active group which liaises with the practice. All patients registered with the surgery are deemed to be members of the PPG, although you may additionally opt to join the virtual PPG (see below).
Formation of the PPG
Patient Participation Groups have been in place nationally since 1978 and we have had an active one in Tetbury for many years. They have been increasingly expected and encouraged at government level to be part of the change in NHS provision.
Purpose of the PPG
- To promote co-operation and strengthen communication between the Practice, patients and the wider community for the benefit of all.
- To promote good health to the highest standard possible through the medium of patient participation.
- The group is not a forum for individual complaints or medical issues. These must be addressed through the Practice Manager.
Profile of the PPG Group Members
All patients registered with the surgery are deemed to be members of the PPG. There is a steering committee with a maximum of 10 committee members which meets monthly. The group is affiliated to the National Association for Patient Participation (NAPP).An AGM is held annually and is open to all patients. Notice is given in the Tetbury Advertiser and on the PPG noticeboard in the Surgery waiting room.
